My Dream

by Kori Crockett Cofounder / CEO

In Louisville, at the corner of Fourth and Walnut, in the center of the shopping district, I was suddenly overwhelmed with the realization that I loved all these people, that they were mine and I theirs, that we could not be alien to one another even though we were total strangers.

I love first generation and limited-income college students. I see myself in them. I know their challenges because I’ve lived them. I see their boundless potential, and I’m committed to making sure they know about it, too.

While we have unique backgrounds and experiences, we share a dream of building better lives for ourselves, our families, and our communities. We’re not just looking out for “me;” we want to pay it forward so others don’t have to go through what we went through.

My own heart has called me to pay it forward on a larger scale.

Propeller Collective envisions a community where first generation and low-income college students care about and help each other become who they aspire to be in life. They will know they’re not alone and have immense power to make positive change in themselves and others.

...There is no way of telling people that they are all walking around shining like the sun… If only they could all see themselves as they really are...
— Thomas Merton

This is my dream, my North Star.

My intention for 2019:
To pursue my calling fully, wholeheartedly, and without reservation.

My intention for the month of February:
Push past fear.

Onward ❤️
